Ratkovic Notches Two Wins in ITA Conference Masters

ROME, Ga. - Rice sophomore Divna Ratkovic earned two victories on day one in the ITA Conference Masters, hosted by the Rome Tennis Center in Rome, Georgia.
Action began on Thursday morning, where Ratkovic took down UIC's Mayu Ushio in just two sets, 7-5, 6-0. Ratkovic then began play for a second time later in the afternoon, taking down Charleston Southern's Marina Skegro by a score of 6-3, 6-4.
By clinching a spot in the quarterfinals, Ratkovic only needs one more win to seal a spot in the NCAA Individual Championships later this month.
Ratkovic will resume action on Friday morning, where the will take on Florida International's Oyinlomo Quadre, who is the four-seed in the tournament.
