
Three Owls Earn All-AAC Postseason Honors

IRVING, Texas - Samarah Hill, Lademi Ogunlana, and Savannah Skopal all earned American Athletic Conference postseason awards, the league announced on Thursday morning.
SAMARAH HILL - FIRST TEAM ALL-CONFERENCE
The LSU transfer finished her final year of collegiate volleyball at Rice, where she posted 278 kills in the regular season, a season-high for her career. She also led the Owls with five double-doubles (another career-high for her), posting 226 digs. Hill compiled a total of 311.0 points through the regular season, with her best performance coming in a 3-2 home victory over Wichita State, where she posted a career-high 29 kills with 16 digs for 31.0 points.
LADEMI OGUNLANA - FIRST TEAM ALL-CONFERENCE
Ogunlana had a break out season for Rice in her junior year, finishing the regular season with 181 kills from the middle blocker position and a league-high .402 hitting percentage. Her hitting percentage also registers at top-20 in the nation at the end of the regular season. Ogunlana posted a career-high 71 blocks and compiled 234.0 points during the season. Against East Carolina, she had a performance for the ages, becoming Rice's first player ever to post a perfect 1.000 hitting percentage with a minimum of 10 attempts, going 11-for-11 with zero errors on the day.
SAVANNAH SKOPAL - SECOND TEAM ALL-CONFERENCE / UNANIMOUS ALL-FRESHMAN TEAM SELECTION
Skopal concluded her freshman season by posting 873 assists, including two matches where she posted 61. Skopal earned three Freshman of the Week honors and one Setter of the Week honor during the season, making her name known through the conference. Skopal posted five double-doubles during the regular season, including one in her first collegiate match, where she posted 61 assists and 14 digs in a 3-2 victory over Houston Christian.
The Owls are preparing to open its run in the AAC Championship with a match-up against seventh-seeded North Texas on Friday afternoon in Charles Koch Arena in Wichita, Kansas.
