Rice heads to College Station for NCAA Regional

HOUSTON – The Rice men's and women's cross country teams are off to the NCAA South Central Regional Friday morning hosted by Texas A&M. The women's race will start at 9 a.m., with the men's race to follow at 10 a.m.

The women's team is coming off a terrific showing at the AAC Championships, finishing third as a team just nine points away from first place. Oliwia Kopeć continued to raise the expectations for her freshman season, finishing in third overall, one of three to earn All-Conference honors (Alex Gobran 13^th, Daphne Mayer 15^th).

The men's team battled through adversities at the conference meet, finishing in eighth as a team. Ben Tijerina led the squad in 22^nd, with Jackson Moran and Wesley Wright also securing top 50 finishes. Rice will return a more full field on Friday's race.

NCAA Regional Schedule:
