
Men’s Basketball Announces Inaugural AAC Schedule

HOUSTON — Three home games against 2022-23 postseason teams, including Final Four participant Florida Atlantic and NIT Champion North Texas, headline Rice's Men's Basketball's inaugural American Athletic Conference schedule, head coach Scott Pera announced on Friday.
Rice will open the its first AAC season on the road on Jan. 3 at Tulane. The Owls are opening its conference slate on the road for the third straight year and the fourth time in the last five years. It's the third time they are opening the conference season against the Green Wave and the first since 2009.
Tudor Fieldhouse will host its first-ever AAC game on Jan. 6 against UTSA. The Owls will also travel to San Antonio on Feb. 3.
Rice will then make its first trip to South Florida on Jan. 12 before hosting the Bulls on Feb. 10. Charlotte comes to South Main on Jan. 16. The return the favor by heading to North Carolina on Mar. 6.
Rice then will play two consecutive "Battle of Owls," first on Jan. 20 when it travels to Philadelphia to face Temple before returning home to host Florida Atlantic on Jan. 24.
Rice welcomes Tulsa on Jan. 27 before traveling to the Golden Hurricane on Feb. 17. The Owls close out January by heading to Memphis on the 31st.
The Owls' remaining conference opponents will be SMU (home – Feb. 7), UAB (road – Feb. 21), East Carolina (home - Feb. 24), Wichita State (road – Mar. 2) and North Texas (home – Mar. 9)
The AAC Tournament will take place Mar. 13-17 at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas.
