
Golfers Named GCAA All-America Scholars

HOUSTON — Golfers Blake Benson, Raghav Chugh, Jay Kirchdorfer and Forrest Park have been named Golf Coaches Association of America All-America Scholars, the organization announced Wednesday afternoon.
To be eligible for Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar status an individual must be a sophomore, junior or senior academically in Division I, II, III, and NAIA, or receiving their Associate's Degree and in their last year of athletic eligibility in the NJCAA. In addition, they must have a stroke-average under 76.0 in Division I and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2.
Benson was named to the Conference USA All-Academic Team after finishing fourth on the team with a 75.19 stroke average. He had the best finish of his career at the Craft Farms Intercollegiate (3/26-27), tying for fourth-place at two-under par.
Chugh earned First Team All-Conference USA honors after leading the team with a 72.25 stroke average. A three-time C-USA Men's Golfer of the Week, he also led the squad in rounds in the 60's (7), top 10 finishes (3) and top five finishes (2), while finishing second on the team with 12 rounds of par or better. He had the best tournament finish of his career at the Mark Simpson Colorado Invitational (10/3-4), taking second-place at six-under par.
A Third Team All-Conference USA honoree, Jay Kirchdorfer was second on the team with a 73.16 stroke average. He led the squad with a team-high 13 rounds of par or better and six top 20 finishes. He had the best finish of his career, tying for second-place at the Bayou City Collegiate Classic (2/20-21) to earn C-USA Men's Golfer of the Week.
Forrest Park averaged 75.92 strokes per round, recording a career-high four rounds of par or better. He closed his career at the Conference USA Championship tying for 18th-place for the best finish of his career.
