
Slinkman’s Season Concludes at NCAA Championships

Levesque Sits 11th in Decathlon
AUSTIN – The Rice men's track and field team had two athletes in action at the NCAA Championships in Austin, Texas. Alexander Slinkman had a heartbreaking end to his 2023 campaign while Grant Levesque currently sits in the top half of the decathlon.
Slinkman cleared 5.45m to finish 11th on the season out of the 24 pole vault competitors. He nearly cleared the next height of 5.6m (18-4.5), but on his final attempt the bar fell off after initially bouncing back in place.
Levesque had a strong start to the decathlon with 3998 points through the first five events. He currently sits 11th out of the 24 decathletes and had a personal best in the shot put with a throw of 13.92m.

Levesque will be back in action for the final day of decathlon events.
