
Levesque Finishes Ninth at NCAA Championships

AUSTIN – The Rice men's track and field team concluded their stay at the NCAA Championships on Day Two of the meet with a ninth-place finish from Grant Levesque in the decathlon.
Levesque amassed 7739 points throughout the two-day event and set a personal best in two events. He grabbed 976 points in the pole vault by clearing 5.21m, which also won the event, and closed the decathlon by setting a personal best time in the 1500m with a 4:49.65.
Levesque opened the event with 3998 points through the first five events and had a personal best in the shot put with a throw of 13.92m. He entered today sitting in 11th place.
Alexander Slinkman also represented the Owls in Austin and finished with an 11th-place finish in the pole vault on the opening day of competition.
