
Rice Sweeps Hammer, has Fast Start to C-USA Championships

DENTON – The Rice men's track and field team had a great first two days to the Conference USA Outdoor Championships, with several top finishes through the first three events. Overall, the Owls sit second in the team standings.
Rice started the championships by busting out the brooms as Shaun Kerry grabbed the hammer throw title with Cal Abdulky and Nick Hicks right behind for the 1-2-3 sweep.
Grant Levesque continued his strong opening day yesterday by capping off the decathlon with a second-place finish after posting a personal best score of 7903. Corbett Fong was close behind with a fourth-place finish for the Owls.
