Blake Benson Named to C-USA All-Academic Team

HOUSTON — Junior golfer Blake Benson was named to Conference USA's Men's Golf All-Academic Team, the league office announced Monday afternoon.
This is Benson's first appearance on the team.
Benson has a 3.846 GPA as a Sport Management major. Last year, he was named to C-USA's Commissioner's Honor Roll while earning Academic Medal honors.
The Austin, Texas native participated in nine events this year, finishing fourth on the team with a 75.19 stroke average while recording five rounds of par or better. He had the best finish of his career at the Craft Farms Intercollegiate, tying for fourth-place at two-under par. He also set career-bests for low round (69), 36-hole score (144) and 54-hole score (214). Benson also tied for 22nd-place at the Houston Classic.
