Owls Fall In C-USA Finale

Finish 37-10 with seven titles
Dallas: Rice saw its hopes of capturing an eighth Conference USA Women's Tennis title in its last year in the conference dashed #38 FIU took an early lead and never gave the Owls a chance to rally in a 4-1.
Doubles: The Panthers took early leads on all three courts and maintained their momentum to take the early lead with wins at the first and third lines.
Singles: FIU kept the pressure on at the start of singles, taking four of six first sets and then forcing a third set on one of two courts where Rice took the opening set. They increased the lead to 2-0 with a win at the first line before Federica Trevisan struck back for Rice with a straight-set win at the second line. The win was her third in three matches at the championship, all in straight sets. But FIU ended any question as to if Rice had another rally in mind, closing out straight-set wins at the fifth and third lines to capture the conference title.
Of Note: Rice completed play at the C-USA Championship with a 37-10 all-time record and a conference-best seven titles in 17 years.
