2023 Conference USA Womnen's Tennis Championship
The Rice women's tennis team opens pursuit of an eighth Conference USA championship after earning the No. 3 seed for the event, which opens on Thursday at the Waranch Tennis Complex in Denton, Texas.
The Owls have earned a first-round bye in the championship and will face the winner of the North Texas/UTEP match at 10 a.m. on Friday. The winner will advance to Saturday's semifinals which will start at noon. The conference championship match is set for 10 on Sunday.
Rice has won seven Conference USA titles in women's tennis. The first came in the school's first year in the league, stunning the field by winning as the seventh seed. Seven years later, they began a run of five-consecutive conference titles and added a seventh while hosting the event at the George R. Brown Tennis Center in 2018.
