Budin Named to C-USA All-Academic Team

Honored for the second conseuctive year
Rice senior Maria Budin was named to the 2023 Conference USA Women's Tennis All-Academic Team as selected by the academic advisors of the member institutions.
Budin carries a 3.919 GPA while majoring in Psychology and was named to the team for the second consecutive year. She was named the C-USA Scholar-Athlete for women's tennis and is a three-time recipient of the C-USA Commissioner's Academic Medal. On the court, she leads the Owls with a 10-6 record in singles, reaching double figures in wins for the third consecutive year. She was a 2022 NCAA Doubles qualifier with Diae El Jardi and they finished 2022 ranked 30th in the nation, the highest ranking for a Rice doubles team since 2013.
Budin will be honored with fellow seniors Sydney Berlin and El Jardi prior to the Owls' final regular season match on Sunday against Prairie View A&M. First serves are scheduled for noon at the George R. Brown Tennis Center.
