Owls ready for North Texas and Charlotte

Pair of matches i.n Charlotte this weekend
Charlotte, NC: The Rice women's tennis faces off against a pair of Conference USA foes this weekend as the Owls meet North Texas at noon on Saturday and #30 Charlotte on Sunday at 11 a.m.

The Owls: Rice is 6-5 so far this season, including a 2-0 record in Conference USA.
Elizabeth Schmidt: "North Texas has been having a solid season and while we saw that they were playing shorthanded last weekend. I don't know if that means they'll be shorthanded this weekend. We have to be ready to play and better be ready to go. Charlotte is obviously having a really great start to the season and have the highest in their history. We had a battle with them last year in North Texas and are expecting another battle at their place on Sunday. This is definitely a good opportunity for us to continue to get better."
North Texas: The Mean Green are 9-8 and 0-4 in C-USA after dropping a 6-0 decision to Charlotte on Friday. They have lost their last four matches while being limited to four players in their lineup Rice leads the all-time series 11-5 thanks to wins in the last six duals, including a 4-1 win in Denton last year.
Charlotte: The 49ers are 14-4 this year and opened their C-USA with a win over North Texas on Friday. They have won eight straight since a loss at #24 Tennessee, with two of those wins in the streak coming against ranked teams (#66 Liberty and #41 Penn State). Rice leads the series 4-0, including a 4-3 battle last year in Denton.
