
Quincy Olivari Named to USBWA All-District Team

HOUSTON — The honors keep coming in for Rice Men's Basketball guard Quincy Olivari as he was named to the All-District Team by the United States Basketball Writer's Association (USBWA), the organization announced Tuesday afternoon.
He becomes the fifth player to earn the honor and the first since Arsalan Kazemi in 2012.
A Second Team All-Conference USA selection, Olivari leads the Owls and is third in C-USA with 18.8 points per game and three-pointers made per game (2.7), fourth in field goal percentage (.422), fifth in three-point field goal percentage (.372) and seventh in free throw percentage (.796) while placing third on the team and 11th in C-USA with 5.9 rebounds per game.
He has connected on 90 three-pointers, which is the second-most in school history. The Atlanta, Ga., native has led the team in scoring a team-high 20 times and has recorded 30 double-figure scoring games. He leads the Owls with 15 20-point games and is one of 29 players in the country with four 30-point games, including a season-high 34 against WKU. He twice earned the Conference USA Player of the Week and set the school all-time three-point mark with 248.
The 12th-seeded Owls begin the Discount Tire CBI this Sunday, Mar. 19, when it faces fifth-seed Duquesne. Tip-off is scheduled for 12 p.m. CT and will be streamed by FloHoops.
