Rice to Face Duquesne in First Round of CBI

HOUSTON— Rice earned the 12th-seed in the Discount Tire College Basketball Invitational and will face fifth-seed Duquesne in the first round this Sunday, Mar. 19 at 12 p.m. CT, the organization announced Sunday night. The tournament will take place in Daytona Beach, Fla., at the Daytona Beach Ocean Center for the second straight year.

The Owls enter the CBI with an 18-15 record. Rice will be making its 14th postseason appearance and third appearance in the CBI. The Owls also participated in the 2017 and 2022 CBI, advancing to the quarterfinals in 2017.
Duquesne finished the season with a 20-12 record. It tied for sixth-place in the Atlantic 10 Conference with a 10-8 record.
This will be the eighth meeting between Rice and the Dukes and the first since 2008. Duquesne leads the series, 5-2.
