
Men’s Basketball Signs Anthony Baston, Jr. for 2024-25

HOUSTON — Rice men's basketball coach Scott Pera has announced Wednesday afternoon the signing of Anthony Baston, Jr. (Scottsdale, Ariz.) to a national letter of intent for the 2024-25 school year.
Batson, a 6-3 guard, currently plays at Notre Dame Preparatory High School in Scottsdale, Ariz. Last year, he helped the Saints to a 23-6 record while averaging 16.5 points per game, 5.0 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 1.7 steals and 1.6 blocks, on his way to being named the 5A Offensive Player of the Year. He earned 5A Northeast Valley All-Region honors three times and was twice named 5A All-Conference.
Said Pera, "I am happy to welcome Anthony Batson to our Rice Basketball family today. Anthony is a terrific two-way player that will bring a multitude of skills to South Main. He is an elite defender and outstanding passer. His skill set fits our program and his character fits our culture. Please join me in welcoming Anthony!"
