
Streete-Thompson to be Inducted into SWC Hall of Fame

WACO, Texas – Eleven-time All-American and Rice track and field legend Kareem Streete-Thompson will be one of eight inductees in the Southwest Conference Hall of Fame's Class of 2022, the organization has announced.
A 1996 graduate of Rice, Streete-Thompson swept both the NCAA titles in the long jump his senior year and is a member of the Rice Athletics Hall of Fame (2001).
As a member of the Owls' squad from 1991-95, the Caribbean native won seven out of eight Southwest Conference long jump titles in addition to the 11 All-America honors. He still holds four school records: indoor 60m (6.61), indoor long jump (8.21m), outdoor 100m (10.16-tied), and outdoor long jump (8.63m). His mark of 28-03.75 in the long jump ranked him number two in the world in 1994.
Sponsored by the Texas Sports Hall of Fame, the Southwest Conference (SWC) Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and Luncheon will be held at the Texas Sports Hall of Fame in Waco, Texas, on Tuesday, Aug. 16 at 12 p.m. Tickets are $75 each and tables are $600.
