HOUSTON, Texas — Rice head basketball coach Scott Pera announced the addition of Brandon Schoeneck as the Men's Basketball Strength and Conditioning Coach Monday afternoon.
"Brandon brings years of experience in running his own programs," said Pera. His knowledge and passion for helping players improve will help us continue to move the program forward. He has worked with and knows what successful programs look like and it is what helped us get him to be a part of what we are doing here at Rice. He has hit the ground running and will help our team have a great summer in the weight room."
Schoeneck comes to South Main after spending last year as the Director of Basketball Sports Performance at Cleveland State. He helped the Vikings to a 20-11 record, the Horizon League regular season championship, and a berth in the National Invitational Tournament.
Prior to Cleveland State, he spent five years as the Director of Sports Performance at Jacksonville State, where he oversaw all aspects of strength and conditioning for the men's and women's basketball teams.
Schoeneck is no stranger to Conference USA, serving as the assistant strength and conditioning coach at Louisiana Tech during the 2015-16 season. While with the Bulldogs, he was responsible for the volleyball, tennis, and golf teams, helping the men's golf team to the Conference USA Championship.
Schoeneck graduated from Arizona State with a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise and Wellness and earned his Masters of Human Movement from A.T. Still University.
