Owls Blank Cougars on Senior Day

Regular season closes next Saturday vs. SMU
Houston: Three Rice seniors closed out their home careers with a win as the Owls saluted Anna Bowtell and Anastasia and Victoria Smirnova with a 4-0 win over Houston on Saturday at the George R. Brown Tennis Center.
Singles: The Owls maintained the pressure in singles, winning four of six first sets and responding to first-set losses on the remaining two courts with strong second sets. Victoria Smirnova dropped only one game over two sets to finish first in her final home match. Federica Trevisan and Zipoli followed shortly after to close out the win.
Of Note: The win was the Owls'20th in the all-time series with Houston (20-12) and their ninth straight over the Cougars.
Up Next: The Owls will wrap up the 2022 regular season next Saturday when they travel to Dallas to take on SMU at 3 p.m.
