Rice Holds Second Scrimmage of Spring

HOUSTON —Rice Football held its second scrimmage of the spring, Friday afternoon at Rice Stadium.
TJ McMahon and Wiley Green took the majority of the snaps at quarterback, with McMahon finishing 6-of-11 for 124 yards and connecting with Sam Crawford on a 69-yard touchdown. Green finished 6-of-14 for 70 yards. Shawqi Itraish finished 4-of-6 for 55 yards and JoVoni Johnson was 1-of-2 for eight yards.
Cameron Montgomery led the rushers with 18 yards on seven carries, including a 15-yard touchdown. Ari Broussard rushed for 11 yards on five attempts and Dean Connors rushed five times for eight yards.
Peyton Stevenson and Luke McCaffrey led the receivers with five receptions apiece for 65 and 27 yards, respectively. Kobie Campbell (39 yards) and Cedric Patterson III (14 yards) added a pair of catches each.
