Series returns to Houston for the first time since 2011
Rice will welcome Tulsa back to Houston for the first time since 2011 for an afternoon kickoff, as the American Conference and ESPN jointly announced that the Owls and Hurricanes will kick off at 3:30 on Saturday, October 17, with coverage on ESPN+.
This will be the 12th meeting between the schools in a series that began with a scoreless tie in 1937 and resumed in 2005 when Rice joined Conference USA. Tulsa leads the series in Houston 6-3-1 and will bring a five-game winning streak on the Owls' home field when they face off at First Community Stadium.
Rice has won the last two meetings, both in Tulsa, including a 42-10 win in 2023 to narrow the overall season series to 9-10-1.
Rice travels to Greenville, North Carolina, this weekend to take on East Carolina at 3 p.m. central while Tulsa is on the road to face Navy at 2:30.
Single-game and group tickets for all three of the Owls' remaining home games in 2026 are currently on sale through the Rice Athletics Ticket Office.
