2012 Sweet 16 team to be saluted on Sunday
In Brief: Rice returns home this weekend to host a pair of non-conference opponents at the George R. Brown Tennis Center. They open the weekend facing Marquette at 11 a.m. on Friday and close it out with an 11 a.m. meeting with Tulane on Sunday as part of a combined dual with the Rice men's team who will host Middle Tennessee.

Calling All Alumni: Sunday's women's match is the annual Alumni Recognition Match and will salute the members of the 2012 Sweet 16 team. All tennis alumni are asked to register in advance.
The Owls: Rice enters the weekend 9-3 (4-0 in conference play) and moved up to 47th in the ITA computer poll on the strength of their win last weekend over No. 41 Charlotte.
The Golden Eagles: Marquette comes to town with an 8-4 record, having won its last four duals, including a 6-1 win at Sam Houston on Tuesday. This will be the third meeting between the schools, all in Houston, but the first at GRBTC. They first met in 1997, as Marquette edged the Owls 5-4 and again in 2012 with Rice winning 6-1. Both matches were played at Jake Hess Tennis Stadium.
The Green Wave: Tulane is 7-4 this season heading into a Saturday American Athletic Conference match against Houston. Rice leads the series 15-7 thanks to a nine-match winning streak. The Green Wave's last win in the series came in 2005.
