Hicks Named C-USA Field Athlete of the Week

Won WT at UH G5 & Super 22 Invitational
DALLAS – Rice junior thrower Nick Hicks was selected the Conference USA Male Field Athlete of the Week after recording his second straight victory in the weight throw this past weekend at the UH G5 & Super 22 Invitational, the league office announced on Tuesday.
On his second to last attempt, Hicks unleashed a throw of 20.37m (66-10.00) to earn his second victory in as many weeks and also claim the top mark in C-USA this season. The All-American's distance is also good enough for 36th in the NCAA.
The San Marcos, Texas native and the rest of the Owls head to College Station, Texas this weekend for the Charlie Thomas Invitational, which is the team's final meet before the C-USA Championships Feb. 19-20 in Birmingham, Ala.
