Rice is 1-0 in duals this season, defeating Tulane 144-59 on November 4 while the 16th-ranked Aggies are 3-2 including wins over No. 12 Kentucky and TCU in back-to-back duals on November 3-4.
The Owls are coming off a third-place finish at the Phill Hansel Invitational. Rice was led by sophomore Arielle Hayon, who earned American Athletics Conference Women's Swimming Athlete of the Week after capturing three events (50 free, 100 & 200 butterfly) and swimming legs on four winning relays. She lowered her school record in the 200 fly with a time of 1:56.64 which currently ranks 25th in the nation.
Zoe Spitz captured both backstroke events at the Hansel Invite, breaking the school record in the 100 back first on the leadoff leg of the Owls' victorious 400 medley relay and later by winning the 100 back title in 53.34. She was honored by The American earlier this fall after setting the school record in the 200 back in a dual with Tulane.
Lauren McDougall matched Hayon by winning three events at the Hansel (100, 200 and 500 freestyles) while swimming on all five winning relays.
