College football's outstanding receiver
The Tallahassee Quarterback Club (TQC) Foundation, Inc. announced on Wednesday that Rice senior wide receiver Bradley Rozner has been added to the 2022 Biletnikoff Award Watch list.
The Biletnikoff Award annually recognizes the college football season's outstanding FBS receiver. Any player regardless of position (wide receiver, tight end, slot back, and running back) who catches a pass is eligible for the award. As such, the Biletnikoff Award recognizes college football's outstanding receiver, not merely college football's outstanding wide receiver.
This is the third appearance on the Biletnikoff Award Watch List for Rozner, who was named to the preseason list in 2020 and again in 2021 but missed both seasons due to injury. He earned his return to the list this season by compiling five games of over 100 receiving yards in the first nine games, the most by a Rice receiver since James Casey had seven and Jarett Dillard six games in 2008. He has topped 100 yards nine times in 22 career games, the best mark since Casey did it 10 times in a 25-game career from 2007-08. Dillard was a finalist for the Biletnikoff in 2006.
Rozner has caught 33 passes for 721 yards and eight touchdowns this year and ranks sixth nationally with an average of 21.9 yards per catch, the highest mark for an Owl since Bill Howton averaged 22.6 in 1951. He leads C-USA receivers with a 22.15 average in conference games.
His eight touchdowns are tied for sixth on the Rice single-season list and his 13 career touchdowns are tied for eighth. He ranks ninth in school history with 1,521 yards.
Rozner and the Owls (5-4) will be on the road this weekend to take on WKU at 1 p.m.
