Birmingham, Ala. — The top two teams in Conference USA turned in a defensive battle as Rice and UAB played to a 0-0 draw in each team's regular season finale, Saturday afternoon from PNC Field.
The Details
The teams traded shots in the first eight minutes. Bella Killgore then made two straight saves on shots from just outside the box. They then battled for offensive positioning for most of the half before Jules Johnston got a shot off in the 42nd minute, but it went wide of the net and they went into halftime tied at nil-nil.
In the second half, the majority of the play was in the middle of the field. UAB had the first chance in the 64th minute dribbling inside the box and sending a cross toward the front of the net, but Madi Allen was there to knock it away.
