•This will be the fourth meeting between the two schools with Rice leading the series 2-1, but the first since 2016.
•The six-year gap between games is the longest for Rice against any current C-USA member.
• Rice has rallied for both its wins in the series.
• Rice rallied from 12 points down with 13:50, roaring back after 1 hour, 30-minute weather delay to win the only previous meeting in Boca Raton, 27-26 on 10/10/15.
• The win was Rice's first when trailing by double-digits in the fourth-quarter since 2009.
• Driphus Jackson drove the Rice 91 yards in 41 seconds to close the gap to 26-21 and then marched them 83 yards to victory, hitting Dillard on a 14-yard TD pass to take the lead with 2:07 left.
• In the first meeting between the schools in 2013, Rice trailed 14-6 with 6:07 left before the defense sparked the comeback. With 4:16 left, James Radcliffe stormed through to sack FAU QB Greg Hankerson and force a fumble which Cody Bauer returned seven yards for a touchdown.
• Rice failed on a two-point conversion try, but on the first play of the following series, Bryce Callahan picked off a Hankerson pass with 4:06 left. Two plays later Darik Dillard scored from 20 yards out to give Rice an 18-14 win.

The Owls opened the 2013 conference schedule with four consecutive wins (FAU, @Tulsa, @UTSA, UTEP) on their way to a 7-1 record and berth in the C-USA Championship game where they defeated Marshall 41-24 and ended the season 10-4.... They opened the 2008 season with a pair of conference wins over SMU and at Memphis before falling to Tulsa in their third C-USA game that year... Rice ended 2008 with a 7-1 C-USA record and finished 10-3 after besting Western Michigan in the Texas Bowl.
