
Men’s Hoops Signee Mekhi Mason Named Nominee for 2022 McDonald’s All-American Game

HOUSTON — Rice Men's Basketball Signee Mekhi Mason has been named a nominee for the 2022 McDonald's All-American Game.
Mason, a 6-5 guard, played for Ed Gipson at Arizona Compass Prep, where he helped them to a 28-2 record last year, including a perfect 7-0 in the Skyline Education Conference. He is a four-year player for the Dragons, making Second Team All-Conference as a sophomore, averaging 15.0 points per game, 5.0 assists and 3.0 rebounds. He was named to the 2021 Pangos All-American Festival Midwest team, where he averaged 10.5 points.
The top 24 boys selected to play in the 2022 McDonald's All American Games will be revealed Tuesday, Jan. 25, on ESPN's "NBA Today" between 3-4 p.m. ET. Fans can then tune in to the McDonald's All American Boys Game on Tuesday, March 29 at 9 p.m. ET on ESPN2.
