Cavit Ege Havsa Signs Pro Contract with Besiktas JK

HOUSTON, Texas — Former Rice Men's Basketball player Cavit Ege Havsa has signed to play professionally overseas, the program announced Friday afternoon.
Havsa has signed to play with Besiktas J.K. of the Turkish Basketball League. Last year, Besiktas J.K. finished eighth in the standings with a 19-11 record.
In his only season with the Owls, he played in 25 games, making eight starts. He averaged 4.6 points per game and 2.4 rebounds per game, while finishing second on the team and 14th in Conference USA with 3.0 assists per game. Havsa had his best game of the year at WKU, scoring a season-high 12 points while grabbing a career-best seven rebounds.
