Fong Leads Group of Decathletes at C-USA Championships

Sophomore in fourth place with 3613 points
MURFREESBORO, TN - Rice sophomore Corbett Fong collected 3613 points over five events to lead a group of four Owls in the decathlon on day one of the Conference USA Outdoor Championships Thursday at Middle Tennessee's Dean A. Hayes Track and Soccer Stadium.
Fong, a native of Tomball, Texas, sits in fourth place after establishing personal best marks in the 100m (5th-11.28), shot put (2nd-12.88m), and high jump (4th-1.84m). Joining Fong in the decathlon is sophomore Keegan O'Connor (5th-3243 points), freshman Dillon Stewart (7th-3169 points), and freshman Chance Allshouse (8th-2978 points).
The decathlon will pick back up with the long jump on Friday starting at 2:45 p.m. Other events on Friday include the hammer throw and the 10,000m.
