In Brief: The 37^th ranked Rice women's tennis team (13-5) close out their 2021 dual season on Sunday when they make the short trip east across Highway 288 to take the the Houston Cougars at the Winston Tennis Facility at 11 a.m. The match was bumped back one day due to weather concerns.

Houston: The Cougars are 14-6 this season and are coming off a 4-2 loss to SMU on Sunday, one day after the Mustangs defeated Rice by the same score. This will be the 31^st meeting between the schools with Rice leading 18-12 and holding a seven-match winning streak. They last met in 2019 at Houston, with Rice taking a 4-0 win in the final regular season match of that season.

Rice is 12-6 so far this year in the doubles point (12-0 when winning the point)… Rice registered its first win when dropping the doubles point in 12 matches when the Owls stormed back to defeat Wichita State on February 26.
Rice has seen three members of the Owls win C-USA's Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week this season: Federica Trevisan (Jan. 10), Maria Budin (Feb. 10), Diae El Jardi (March 3).
Trevisan (11-2) leads the Owls in dual singles wins and has won 10 of her last 11 decisions.
Anna Bowtell (9-5) needs one singles win to reach double figures for the fourth consecutive dual season. Bowtell was 10-1 in the shortened 2020 campaign, extending a streak that began with 13 wins in 2018 and 12 in 2019. Bowtell, who will return for the 2021-22 season, has a combined record in tournaments and duals of 75-27 and is 12 wins from matching Elle Lewis (87-64) for 10^th on the Owls career singles chart.
