Hicks, Kerry Finish Top Three in Hammer Throw

Owls compete in five events at Roadrunner Invitational
SAN ANTONIO - Rice throwers Nick Hicks and Shaun Kerry placed second and third in the hammer throw, respectively, to lead the way for the Owls on day two of the Roadrunner Invitational on Friday.
Hicks recorded his fourth top-three finish in the hammer throw this season with a heave of 62.98m (206-07) while Kerry (59.92m) notched his seventh top-three finish of the season in the same event.
A trio of Owls all achieved personal best performances in the decathlon, led by Keegan O'Connor's fifth place result with 5854 points. Teammates Dillon Stewart (5826 points-6th) and Chance Allshouse (4637 points-8th) also established personal best points in the event.
Ace Castillo concluded day two of competition with a fourth place finish (15:19.44) in the 5000m.
