HOUSTON — Sophomore forward Max Fiedler was named to the Conference USA All-Academic Team, announced Friday afternoon by the conference office.
This is Fiedler's first appearance on the team. It is the first time Rice has had a member of the All-Academic Team since 2018.
Fiedler, who is majoring in Mathematical Economic Analysis, has a 3.98 GPA. He is a two-time member of the Conference USA Commissioner's Honor Roll and Rice University President's Honor Roll, as well as a two-time recipient of the C-USA Academic Medal.
This year, the Indialantic, Fla., native is averaging 10.6 points per game. He is second in Conference USA with 8.5 rebounds per game and seven double-doubles and is ninth with 3.7 assists per game. He is one of just four players in the country to averaging 10.5 points, 8.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists. He is also connecting on a team-high 68.7% field goal percentage, which would shatter the school record.
He has led team in rebounding 18 times and assists 12 times, while recording 15 double-figure scoring games and 10 double-figure rebounding games.
