Finished 19th at NCAA Championship
NEW ORLEANS - Rice sophomore distance runner Grace Forbes continued to reel in the awards on Thursday when she named the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country (USTFCCCA) Women's Cross Country South Central Region Athlete of the Year, the organization announced.
The All-American competed in just two races but made the most of them, starting by winning the Conference USA individual title with a time of 19:58 in the 6k race back on Oct. 31, 2020. Last week, Forbes put the finishing touches on a jam-packed week by placing 19th and earning All-American honors at the NCAA Cross Country Championships with a time of 20:37 in the 6k race in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
That race came just days after placing sixth in the 5000m at the NCAA Indoor Championships.
