In Brief: The Rice women's tennis team (3-2) welcomes longtime rival Texas Tech to George R. Brown Tennis Center for the second of four consecutive home matches for the Owls.

Texas Tech: The Red Raiders come to Houston for three matches in the next two days after opening their dual season with a pair of wins last weekend in El Paso. They will face Sam Houston State in a second match at GRBTC on Saturday afternoon and wrap up the trip with a Sunday dual vs. Houston. Rice leads the series 15-10, but Tech has won the last eight. Rice's last win in the series came on 2/14/10, a 6-1 decision at Jake Hess Tennis Stadium. Tech is 2-0 at GRBTC.

Rice is 3-2 so far this year in the doubles point (3-0 when winning the point).

George R. Brown Tennis Center: Rice has posted a 52-13 regular season record at GRBTC (9-0 in C-USA play) since making their debut at their new home by defeating Lamar 7-0 on 1/17/15. The Owls have also posted a 6-0 postseason mark while winning a pair of Conference USA titles at home (2015 & 2019).
Next Up: The Owls homestand continues next weekend as they host Sam Houston State on Friday at 1 p.m. and then join with the Rice men to host UTA in a combined dual at 11 a.m. on Saturday.
