Men’s Basketball Faces Crosstown Foe Houston Baptist

HOUSTON — Following a week off for exams, Rice will travel down the road this Saturday, Dec. 11 when it faces crosstown foe Houston Baptist. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. and will be streamed at the Husky Sports Network.

• Rice enters Saturday night's contest with a 5-4 record after defeating Jarvis Christian, 100-62, last Saturday.
• Guard Travis Evee leads the Owls and is 10th in Conference USA with 14.8 points per game while adding 3.0 rebounds per game and 2.6 assists per game. Evee is second in C-USA with 3.1 three-pointers per game and is third in three-point field goal percentage (43.8%) while connecting on 49.4% from the floor.
• Guard Carl Pierre is second on the team with 14.7 points per game and is pulling down 3.0 rebounds per game. He is second in the league in three-point field goal percentage (45.0%), third in three-pointers made per game (3.0), fifth in field goal percentage (49.5%) and seventh in minutes played (32.9).

He's also third in the Southland in field goal percentage (56.8%), seventh in steals (1.6) and eighth in free throw percentage (72.4%) and minutes played (27.8).
• Guard Brycen Long is second on the team with 10.6 points per game. He's tied for second in the league in three-pointers made per game, connecting on 2.3.
• Forward Sam Hofman is scoring 8.0 points per game and guard Jade Tse leads the team and is eighth in the Southland in assists with 3.0 per game.
