In Brief: The Rice women's tennis team (2-1) will join with the men's team in taking on LSU at the LSU Tennis Complex at noon on Sunday.

LSU: The Tigers were originally scheduled to open the season by participating in the ITA Kickoff weekend at the Austin Regional along with Texas, Arizona State and Baylor (all future Rice opponents) but the event was cancelled. The Tigers were ranked 24^th in the preseason polls and received votes in the most recent tabulation. LSU leads the series 10-8 thanks to a four-match winning streak. The Owls last win in the series was a 6-1 win in 2015. This is third meeting between the two at the Tigers current complex, which opened in 2015 and the Tigers have won two of three. This is the third consecutive meeting between the schools as a combine dual with the men's teams.

Owls Notables:

Rice has dropped its last three duals away from the George R. Brown Tennis Center. Their last win on the road was on February 1 at UTA.
Rice is 2-1 so far this year in the doubles point (2-0 when winning the point).

The Schedule Ahead: Sundays doubleheader is the first of a stretch of five consecutive duals on the road for the Owls, who will remain on the road next weekend for three duals and then return to play 14 consecutive home matches (with a rescheduled match with Prairie View also possible) to round out the 2021 dual season.
Next Up: The Owls return home next week to host Texas A&M Corpus Christi (February 4) and Texas Tech (February 6) at the George R. Brown Tennis center.
