Rice and Houston Baptist to Meet in 2026

HOUSTON — Rice and Houston Baptist announced on Wednesday the schools will meet for the first time in football in 2026 when the Owls host the Huskies at Rice Stadium on September 12, 2026.
The meeting between the two schools will be Rice's second non-conference game that year. The Owls are scheduled to open the season at home against Army West Point.
Rice is 21-3 in games against teams from the Southland Conference. The Owls are a perfect 4-0 against Lamar, 16-1 versus Sam Houston State, 1-1 versus Stephen F. Austin and 0-1 against Nicholls State. Rice will also face McNeese State in 2022.
Season tickets for the 2020 campaign featuring seven home games start are available online or by calling the Rice Athletics Ticket Office at (713) 348-OWLS. For additional ticket and game day information for the 2020 football season, please visit the football ticket page.
