
Sarkar and Russell Repeat as All-CUSA Selections

2020 All-Conference USA Men's Tennis Team
Sumit Sarkar and Conrad Russell have been named to the All-Conference USA's Men's Tennis first team for the second consecutive year in a vote of conference coaches. Sarkar was a repeat honoree in singles and joined with Russell on the doubles team.
Sarkar finished the dual season with a 4-4 record at the first line in singles while battling injuries early in the year. All four singles losses came to players ranked in the final Oracle/ITA rankings, including three in the top 30 (#2 Yuya Ito, Texas; #28 Haddy Habib, Texas A&M; #30 Aliistar Gray, TCU).
He and Russell posted a 5-2 mark at the first doubles line over the last eight matches of the shortened season. Their top win was a 6-3 d at Texas over the Longhorns' ninth ranked duo of Ito and Christian Sigsgaard to set the stage for the Owls to grab their first doubles point vs. Texas in 16 yea. They also downed Texas A&M's first line duo of Juan Carlos Aguilar and Pierce Rollins.
