Owls Add Road Contest at Texas Tech

HOUSTON – The Rice Owls women's basketball team announced an addition to its non-conference schedule on Wednesday, adding a road game at Texas Tech set for this Saturday, Dec. 5 at 6 p.m. in Lubbock on ESPN+.
The news comes following the cancellation of Rice's previously scheduled game on Dec. 2 at UT-Arlington, which was called due to COVID issues within the Mavericks' program.
The matchup with the Lady Raiders will be the first meeting between the two teams since 2005 when the Owls knocked off then No. 14 Texas Tech, 73-70 at Tudor Fieldhouse.
Rice (2-0) has started the season with consecutive wins, including a 66-54 road victory last Saturday at Little Rock. Texas Tech has also won their first two games of the season, which includes a 68-51 win against Houston Baptist on Nov. 28.
