MT&F: Owls Send Nine to FasTrak Invitational

HOUSTON - The Rice Owls men's T&F sent nine competitors to Saturday's FasTrak Invitational, hosted by the University of Houston. Of the nine competitors, three Owls placed in the top three, led by Lucas Ribeiro's second victory (17.00m) of the season in the shot put. Freshman thrower Chris Rivera placed sixth in the same event with a throw of 14.86m.
The Owls also competed in their first vault of the season with Alex Slinkman placing second overall with a clearance of 5.03m while Thomas Pratt was third with a height of 4.87m. Multi-event athletes Corbett Fong, Keegan O'Connor, and Chance Allhouse also saw competition in the 60m, 60m hurdles and shot put.
The Owls will be back at UH next weekend for the Houston Invitational, Jan. 31-Feb. 1.
