Olguin Named C-USA Track Athlete of the Week

Senior ranks 3rd in NCAA in 800m
DALLAS - Following his superb performance at last weekend's Victor Lopez Classic, Rice senior middle distance runner Reagan Olguin was named the Conference USA Male Track Athlete of the Week, the league office announced on Tuesday.
Olguin, from Edinburg, Texas, established a lifetime best mark of 1:49.96 to place third overall in the 800m, a time which ranks first in C-USA and third in the NCAA. Olguin posted a 400m split of 52.28 in the race and now holds the top times in C-USA in both the 800m and the 1500m (3:48.03).
The Owls, including Olguin, will be back in action this weekend when they partake in the Texas Relays in Austin.
