Sumit Sarkar dropped his opening round in the main singles draw at the 2019 Saint Francis Health System ITA All-American Championships in Tulsa, Oklahoma on Wednesday.
The Details:
Sarkar and fourth seeded Aleks Kovacevic of Illinois battled evenly in the first set through 12 games to force a tiebreaker. Sarkar took a 5-3 lead, but Kovacevic took the next four points to win the first set. The second set was nearly a copy of the first before Kovacevic pulled out the win. Sarkar will now turn his attention to the consolation round of main draw singles on Thursday.
