Anastasia Smirnova won her third match of the weekend on Sunday to advance to join her twin sister Victoria in the qualifying singles of the 2019 Saint Francis Health System ITA All-American Championships at the Case Tennis Center at LaFortune Park in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
The Details:
Anastasia Smirnova defeated Alexandra Mikhailuk of Mississippi State in straight sets to advance to a Monday morning matchup with Miranda Ramirez of Syracuse. Victoria Smirnova will open play in the qualifying round against Natasha Subhash of Virginia. Winners from Monday's matches will play again on Tuesday, with the winners of those matches advancing to the singles main draw, which begins on Wednesday. Anastasia Smirnova will be back on the court on Monday afternoon along with Priya Niezgoda for the opening round of qualifying doubles play against Yuna Ito and Ulyana Shirkova of Miami. First round winners in doubles will play a second match on Monday to advance to the third round on Tuesday, with those winners advancing to the main draw on Wednesday.
