The Lede: Karol Paluch ground out a pair of wins to advance to the pre-qualifying singles round of 63 at the 2019 Saint Francis Health System ITA All-American Championships in Tulsa, Oklahoma on Saturday.
The Details: Paluch outlasted Gonzaga's Eric Hadigian in his opener, clinching the match with a 7-4 win a second set tiebreaker and then ground out a three-set win over Pepperdine's Enrique Luque Rico to advance to face Kent Hunter of California on Sunday. Freshman Wes Barnett dropped his opening match in pre-qualifying singles and will move on to the consolation round on Sunday at the University of Tulsa's Michael D. Case Center. Paluch team with Sumit Sarkar on Monday in the opener of qualifying doubles while Sarkar has earned a spot in the singles main draw and will not begin play until Wednesday.
