Dunbar Named to C-USA All-Academic Team

DALLAS - Rice junior Alex Dunbar was named to the 2019 Conference USA Men's Cross Country All-Academic Team, the league office announced on Thursday (10/31).
A native of Baton Rouge, La., Dunbar boasts a 3.96 GPA while majoring in Mathematics and Computational and Applied Math. Dunbar has competed in three races for the Owls this season, highlighted by an eighth place finish at the HBU Cross Country Carnival, where he set a four-mile PR. Most recently he established an 8k PR at the Arturo Barrios Invitational hosted by Texas A&M.
Dunbar has been named to the C-USA Commissioner's Honor Roll and the Rice University President's Honor Roll three times. He has also earned a C-USA Academic Medal on three occasions.
The C-USA All-Academic Team consists of six student-athletes that have earned a 3.2 cumulative grade point average or better and are a key member on their respective teams.
Dunbar and the Owls will be competing at the C-USA Championships this Saturday at 10 a.m. (CT), hosted by WKU.
