Barnett and Eskeland Advance to Rice Invite Finals

The Lede: Wes Barnett and Jacob Eskeland earned berths in their singles flight finals with three set wins to highlight action for the Owls in the Rice Invitational on Saturday at the George R. Brown Tennis Center.

The Details: Barnett outlasted Incarnate Word's Dennis Boisseau in a third set tiebreaker to advance to the A Flight final against Guido Marson of Texas A&M who advanced with a straight set win over Conrad Russell. Eskeland shook off a first set loss to Solano Caffarena of Texas Arlington to advance to a Sunday matchup with Patrick Poestinger of UTSA. Final round action on Sunday begins at 9 a.m.
