Mulkey scores 20 points, add 8 blocks in Rice’s 60-47 victory
MURFREEESBORO, TN – The Rice Owls women's basketball team led start to finish in an impressive 60-47 road victory Thursday evening at Middle Tennessee, the team's eighth consecutive win and 15th in their last 16 games overall.
Rice (15-3, 6-0) moved into sole possession of first place in Conference USA by recording their first-ever win at the Murphy Center. The Owls held an opponent below 60 points for a sixth straight game and were led offensively by sophomore center Nancy Mulkey, who notched a game-high 20 points and tied the school record in blocks (8) for a second time this season.

Mulkey was one of three Owls to score in double-figures, joined by Erica Ogwumike (14 points) and Sydne Wiggins (season-high 12 points). Ogwumike also snagged a game-high 10 rebounds for her ninth double-double of the season.
