
Rutledge and Sarkar Fall in Finals

Eric Rutledge and Sumit Sarkar dropped a 6-2, 6-4 decision to Texas Tech's Artem Kapshuk and Ilgiz Valiev in the championship match of the John Breaux Cajun Tennis Classic in Lafayette, Louisiana on Sunday.
Rutledge and Sarkar, who were seeded second in their opening action of the fall, finished the tournament with a 2-1 mark in doubles as well as in singles over the three days of competition.
They will join their Rice teammates next weekend in hosting players from 11 teams at the George R. Brown Tennis Center for their annual Rice Fall Invitational. Action is set to begin on Friday morning.
