Men's XC Slated to Finish Third

C-USA Men's Cross Country Coaches' Poll
IRVING, Texas - The Rice Owls men's cross country team has been picked to finish third in the Conference USA Preseason Poll, released on Wednesday (Aug. 22).
Last season the Owls placed third at the C-USA Championships, the squad's highest finish since 2013. Rice returns C-USA All-Conference runner Hociel Landa (Second Team), along with redshirt sophomore Clay Musial (Third Team). Rice is led by veteran head coach Jon Warren, who returns for a 17th season.
Charlotte, who finished second in C-USA last year, were picked as the preseason favorite with eight first-place votes while Middle Tennessee was slated to place second with two first-place votes.
